Only Trump haters disliked UN speech

Opposition to President Donald Trump’s United Nations speech had more to do with disliking him as president, not the substance of what he said, former cable news anchor Bill O’Reilly told Newsmax TV.

O’Reilly spoke with John Bachman on Wednesday about a variety of topics, including Trump’s appearance at the U.N. General Assembly.

“The people who liked it, loved it. [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu said it was the best speech he ever heard at the U.N., Wall Street Journal liked it, all of that,” O’Reilly said.

“People who hated it pretty much don’t like Trump. So it wasn’t about the speech, it again goes back to Trump.”

O’Reilly, a New York Times bestselling author and the author of “Killing England,” then spoke about Trump’s pledge to “totally destroy” North Korea if the rogue nation does not curb its aggressive military actions.

“Barack Obama had eight years to improve the situation in North Korea. Did he? The answer is no,” O’Reilly said. “Hillary Clinton, secretary of state, John Kerry, secretary of state. Eight years to improve it. Not solve it, improve it. What happened? Got worse.

“So now we have Hillary Clinton on the Colbert show slamming the Trump speech and John Kerry slamming it as well. I’m saying you know what, when you’re the manager of a baseball team that comes in last place for eight years and then somebody tries something different when you’re gone and you are criticizing them? You’re laughed at.”
